GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why are you interested in joining the staff team?:
I am interested in joining the staff team as i know it is hard to start a Garry's mod server and would like to help in the running of this one. I also have an excellent understanding of military RP rules as it is the only roleplay game mode that I enjoy playing on garrys mod. I have also staffed on a few other Roleplay servers, mainly being Military RP,so i have a good understanding of how to correctly use the powers of which come with a staff position. I mainly want to help the server in any way that i can as i know how hard it can be to start a server, after working with Conti, and help keep the server running smoothly without any people severely breaking rules that disrupt the experience for the other people who want to RP correctly and without disruption from those who do not.

What makes you stand out from the other applicants and the skills that help you with this?:
I think that there are a few things that make me stand out from other applicants. I have an extensive knowledge of ULX commands and how to effectively use what I have in a way that is efficient and the right way for certain situations. I also have an advanced knowledge of the rules of military role play and how certain situations should be handled if rules are broken. Due to my many hours spent playing military RP and staffing on military RP servers,i understand how to handle conflicts in a way that is fair for both sides of the conflict. When taking staff situations I apply all of the evidence given that being through logs or evidence given by either party in the sit. I am able to quickly get to know the players on the server and find out whether they want to seriously roleplay or are just there to troll and 'minge'. Although I have a good knowledge of rules and ULXcommandsi am always open to learning things that I am not so familiar with or things that differ with this server and others that I have played and staffed on. I am aware that there are other staff members and I will look to them if I need a second opinion or assistance with a sit or a reminder of what punishments to give etc.

KNOWLEDGE OF RULES

Please explain what the following phrases and such mean:

RDM: RDM stands for 'Random deathmatch'. This is when a player kills someone without a reason that is roleplay friendly and not just because 'i don't like him'

RDA:RDA stands for 'Random Arrest'. This occurs when a player with the ability to arrest another player does so without a reason that goes with the RP that is happening and not a reason like 'Because I can'

ARDM: ARDM is 'Attempted Random Deathmatch'. This is when a player tries to break the RDM rule but is unsuccessful in killing the other player and is either arrested, killed or taken by staff before they break the rule.

NLR: NLR stands for 'New Life Rule'. This is the rule where once a player has died they are not permitted to go back to their place ofdeathforacertainamountoftime , usually 3 minutes, and memory of their previous life must be lost, unless told the information by another soldier, this is when the timer expires.

FailRP: FailRP is when a player breaks the roleplay and acts unrealistic and not in a way that people would act in the real-life equivalent of that situation. Things that are classed as failRP areBhopping, disobeying orders from commanders and randomly shooting. There are many more examples.

FearRP: FearRP is when a player is in a situation where they should be fearing for their life but acts in a way that there is no fear shown and doesn't respect the idea of losing their lives. For example, if a player attempts to take a hostage and says 'get on the ground' and the second player turns around and shoots the hostage taker and had no apparent fear of losing their lives.

Metagaming: Metagaming is when a player uses information obtained out of character or through looking at enemy communications in chat or using information through their last life.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION QUESTIONS

If a VIP / Donator is seen RDMing and breaking NLR. What would you do(Does not require 50 words):
A VIP or donator should not get special treatment if they break rules because they have spent money. They have still broken a rule and should be treated like any other player if they break a rule.

How should "admin sits" be handled? What is the process of handling them?:
There is a number of things that I would do in an admin situation. First, I would either claim the case or inform other staff members that i am going to handle the situation. I would then check if both players are available and not partaking in a roleplaying activity just to make sure that the roleplay isn't disrupted in any way. For example an RDM case, I would first bring the person who had either been RDMed or reported the RDM to the staff team into a sit, the sit being a secluded area away from RP to avoid being a disruption. I would them ask the victim to elaborate on what had happened and ask them if there were any witnesses to the event. I would then bring the suspected rule breaker into the sit and inform him of the report and ask for his version of events of what happened. If it was a clear RDM I would warn or kick the culprit depending on the punishment system that the server has.  If there are conflicting stories I would bring any witnesses if there was any and ask for their opinion and if their story matches one of the others give a punishment suitable for the rule that has been broken. I would ask another staff member for their opinion if necessary and give a correct punishment. If a lack of evidence is provided I would inform the two players and send them away without punishment due to a lack of evidence. I would then watch the suspected rule breaker and attempt to catch him breaking rules or roleplaying correctly.

If there was a player "minging" around and not roleplaying correctly, what would you do?:
If the player who is supposedly breaking rules and 'minging' has a history of breaking rules, minging etc. If they do it is very probable that the person has broken rules. After checking if the player has a bad history I would bring the person to a sit. I would then ask questions and get an understanding of what is happening with the player and if any rules were broken. If it is a clear rule break a punishment would be issued and they would be sent back and watched in case they break further rules and require more punishment. If it is not an obvious rule break from what he was saying I would let the player go and watch him to try and catch him in the act of breaking rules. If he is then caught I would then issue a sufficient punishment.

If someone asked you to spawn an item or vehicle for them, how would you handle the situation?:
There are a number of steps i would take before either spawning or not spawning a vehicle or item. First, i would take into account the players rank, regiment, donator rank and whether the player has a history of breaking rules. I would ask why the player wants the specific thing and if they have permission from another staff member or a commander. I would then ask the commander or staff member if they do in fact have permission and if they should be having the item due to rank etc i would spawn it for them. If the player themselves was a high ranking player I would ask for a reason. If the reason is valid I would ask a member of high ranking staff and then do whatever that staff member suggests that I do. If I do end up denying the request and receive verbal abuse and disrespect from the player they may receive further punishment.

In-game rank: Current BI PVT/ Tali Sniper but i hope to become a higher rank in either tali or another military regiment.

In-game name: Jules

IN-GAME INFORMATION

What comes first? Role-play or administrative duty?(Does not require 50 words):
Administrative duty always comes first without a doubt. If there was no staff doing their duty the server would be just a mass amount of rule breaking and chaos. Although roleplay is important as if too many staff members are on duty there isn't as much roleplay happening for those who are not staff members.

:N/A

Please list any punishments you have received, if any: I have one for RDM, however, we were messing around and i believe it got too far. I have realized my mistake of course.

List of all regiments you've been in, and the reason for leaving (or being kicked out of) them: BI Left for SRR

Advice:
- Stay Active
- Don't Get Punishments
- Help Players
